As the title suggests, what films have had a striking, profound effect upon you? Of course the hot topic at the moment is Avatar vs Star Wars, but are there any more up there that if not for audiences as a whole, have made you feel something different?
I'll start: Another one of my personal favourites that had a striking effect on me was Donnie Darko. A somewhat misunderstood, depressed and rather shy teenager- it reminded me of myself a few years back. I won't spoil the plot for anyone who hasn't seen it, but one prominent moral was that all of our actions and feelings are intertwined with each other and flow like an endless river. Essentially, we all feel a degree of pain when a tragic event happens, even if you weren't particularly fond of the person/people involved.
